Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
